  • The latest version of the popular Bont Riot Road + features a Boa closure as well as a hook-and-loop strap on the forefoot so that you can ensure a comfortable fit and make minor adjustments on the go. The closures have been configured to distribute pressure evenly across the foot, minimising ‘hot spots.’ Instead of the traditional nylon composite, Bont Riots feature carbon fibreglass composite sole which offers more stiffness so you can be confident that you won’t be wasting power.  If you are a road cyclist looking to upgrade to a high-performance road shoe, the Bont Riot is a great choice. Like all Bont shoes, it’s heat-mouldable for a fit that’s individual to you and has been designed for that perfect balance of comfort and performance.  Heat Moldable This cycling shoe is the most heat moldable shoe on the market today thanks to Bont’s resin which has taken 36 years to perfect so it is extremely stiff but pliable at relatively low temperatures. To mould your shoes, remove any cleats, laces or cleat mounting screws and innersole before moulding. Pre-heat the oven to 70C/160F. Place the shoe in the oven for 20 minutes. Higher temperatures will void your warranty and may damage your boot. Let them cool a little and test the shoe temperature with your hand before placing your feet in the shoes. Tighten the straps and allow to cool. If you have any lumps or bunions on your feet or if there are any areas causing discomfort, while the shoe is hot you can use the round end of a screwdriver to press out any part of the boot. You can heat mould the shoes as many times as you like. Carbon Composite Construction The carbon composite construction of the Riot+ has been specifically designed to ensure maximum performance at low weight. The composite tub style construction of the chassis has been strengthened with the inclusion of carbon across high-stress areas. The carbon has been sandwiched between layers of fibreglass to maximise strength. Last Design A last is a replica of a foot that the cycling shoe is built around. Last makers do not make cycling shoe lasts, they only make shoe lasts so perfecting a cycling shoe last requires a great deal of expertise in functional biomechanics and ongoing research. Bont have been perfecting their performance footwear lasts since 1975 and the process is ongoing which is why they believe that Bont cycling shoes continue to be a leader in providing the most functional and correct anatomical support to cyclists than any other brand on the market. Their motto in terms of cycling shoe fit is simple, “We make shoes for cycling, not walking.” Medial Longitudinal Arch Support Over pronation is one of the main contributors to incorrect tracking of knees during a cyclists pedalling phase due to internal rotation of tibia and femur. This can result in knee injuries. In addition, the rotation of tibia/femur can cause the pelvis to tilt resulting in lower back strain. Structural medial longitudinal arch support is provided to stop over pronation of feet. This is also supported by Bont’s Lateral Forefoot Support.

There are several key considerations that we like you to think about when buying any product, these are designed to help you to get the most of your money and also to help you find the very best products from a number of options available. Our first piece of advice is to check out the key features of Bont Riot Road+ to ascertain what it is about it that stands out from the competition. We also recommend that you spend a bit of time comparing Bont Riot Road+ to other products from Bont to see how it stacks up against similar products.

Then when you have spent the time looking at some of the key features, we suggest that you write yourself a list of things that your Cycling Shoes product must have. These ‘must haves’ can vary from specific features that you’re looking for, or it may be that you’re only willing to buy from a retailer like Wiggle Online Cycle Shop or perhaps you only want a brand such as Bont. This list will really prove useful when you come to narrowing down your choices and ultimately whether you decide to buy Bont Riot Road+ or an alternative option. We can’t stress this enough, once you have written your list, stick to it. So often we’re tempted by a good deal and end up straying away from the criteria that we set ourselves, which can mean we end up spending more, or buying a product that isn’t actually fit for the purpose we originally intended.

The price of the Cycling Shoes product that you buy is obviously going to be a major part of your decision, let’s face it, price is what drives a huge part of the decision making on any purchase nowadays. So we wanted to explore the price of Bont Riot Road+ a bit more so that you can see how it stacks up against the competition.

To do that, we looked at the prices of 424 products in the Cycling Shoes category to determine how much you can expect to pay for one of these products. The results show that of the 424 products, the average price was £121.68, whilst the most expensive price came in at £380.00, although it’s also worth noting that the cheapest product we found in the category was just £1.00.

The next step is to look at the price you can expect to pay for Bont products. The average price was £146.98 of the 15 products we found from Bont (worth mentioning that only 15 of these are in the Cycling Shoes category). The highest priced item we found from them was £324.99 and the cheapest was £39.99.

The key thing to consider here, is how the price of Bont Riot Road+ compares to others but taking into account the quality and features of Bont Riot Road+ over the other options.

Bont Riot Road+ Reviews

As we mentioned at the start, when we review our products we consider a number of different, but important, factors. For Bont Riot Road+ the 3 factors that we took into account are the price, the quality and the reviews received. We then create a score for each of these factors based on how it compares to other alternatives. Once that’s done we combine all of the scores to give you an Overall score which can be used as a benchmark to compare to other products.

You’ll see that we scored Bont Riot Road+ 8.8 out of 10, which is an amazing score for a product in the Cycling Shoes category. This score was reached because we found that the quality of the item was higher than that of products in a similar price bracket, the price seemed to be very good value for money and the reviews over at Wiggle Online Cycle Shop were overall very positive.

Now that you’ve got a good idea of how Bont Riot Road+ stacks up against the competition, our top recommendation would be to go over to Wiggle Online Cycle Shop by clicking the “View Reviews” button and spending a bit of time reading lots of customer reviews. Customer reviews are truly your best ally when it comes to shopping online. You can’t get a good feel for the key features, specification or quality of a product when you’re buying it online, which is why reviews are so helpful. Reviews are essentially your way of getting someone else to test the product on your behalf. You’ll also get feedback from customers that have been using Bont Riot Road+ for a number of months too, so you’ll know how it stands the test of time and can get a really good idea of whether it’s the right product for you to go for.
